The EPA Waste Prevention Award is a special award sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that recognises communities that have undertaken activities to prevent waste and use resources efficiently.

For this award, there is an overall national prize of €1,000 which is given to the community that consumes the least amount of waste and uses resources and materials most efficiently, as well as two highly commended awards of €500 each.
