This year’s Safer Internet Day (SID) will be celebrated in Ireland on Tuesday 7th February 2017.

This is an anti-bullying EU wide initiative aiming to promote safer internet for everyone, especially young people. The theme this year is: ‘Be the change: Unite for a better internet’.

Webwise, who are the Irish Internet Safety Awareness Centre providing teaching resources and advice on internet safety topics, will distribute free internet safety wristbands and badges for all schools who share their plans for SID.

On the campaign website, which is www.saferinternetday.ie, there is also a list of activities, a Powerpoint presentation, videos, scripts and worksheets that schools can use to mark the day.
