The Gathering Ireland 2013 is about the people of Ireland throwing open their arms and inviting anyone with a connection to Ireland to come and visit.
The Gathering invites anyone with Irish blood, a link to Ireland or a love of Ireland to join in and celebrate this country at a series of exciting, dynamic and diverse events during 2013.
Events will range from clan gatherings where people can discover their roots, to rugby clubs inviting foreign teams to their sevens tournament and international business groups conferring in Ireland.
These events will be created and organised by the people of Ireland, as individuals and groups, within communities, within sporting groups, within voluntary groups, within businesses, within clubs and within TidyTowns groups, who will reach out to their worldwide networks. For those organising the events, information, help and support is available on The Gathering’s newly launched website, which will be updated throughout the upcoming months.
The Gathering is a powerful grass-roots movement. By reconnecting with the global community, it will be like completing an electrical circuit. Energy will flow and Ireland’s community will light up and sparkle with its own vitality.
The Gathering wants people in Ireland to light up 2013 with an unprecedented celebration of Ireland’s global community and past, present and future.
