The European Central Bank has announced that the new €50 bank note will enter into circulation across Europe on 4th April 2017.

The €50 note is the most widely used bank note with more €50 notes in the public domain than €5, €10 and €20 bank notes combined.

The main purpose of bringing out the new €50 note is to make the currency safer with the new note displaying a portrait window as previously seen on €20 notes.

To determine that the note is not a fake, consumers are advised to hold the note up to the light, and if the note is real, a see through window close to the top of the hologram will reveal a portrait of Europa, which can be seen on both sides of the note.
