he 2017 Irish Tourism Industry Award winners were announced recently at a gala event in the Clayton Hotel in Dublin.

These awards recognise companies at home and abroad who have made a significant contribution to improving visitor experiences in Ireland and to increase the number of visitors from overseas.
The winners were as follows:

•    Best Adventure Experience – Vagabong Tours of Ireland

•    Best Business Tourism Innovation – Google Sales Conference 2015- Green Light Events

•    Best Environmental Tourism Innovation – Lullymore Heritage & Discovery Park, Kildare

•    Best Festival / Event Experience (over 50,000 people) – Bray Air Display

•    Best Festival / Event Experience (under 50,000 people) – Aer Lingus College Football Classic, Dublin

•    Best Food & Beverage Experience – Airfield Estate, Dublin

•    Best International Access Initiative – Dublin Airport

•    Best International Marketing Initiative – World Buiatrics Congress- MCI Dublin

•    Best Local Authority Tourism Innovation – The Lough Derg Marketing Group (Tipperary, Clare and Galway County Councils)

•    Best Cultural Experience (over 100,000 people) – GPO Witness History, Dublin (pictured below)

•    Best Cultural Experience (under100,000 people) – Cnoc Suain, Galway

•    Best Leisure Tourism Innovation – City – Limerick

•    Best Leisure Tourism Innovation – County- Westport House, Mayo

•    Best Innovative Place to Stay – River Valley Holiday Park, Wicklow

•    Special Recognition Award – Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme
